Taking part at a Life Study Centre
We would like to thank all the women and their partners who generously gave their time and supported Life Study by visiting a Life Study Centre. As of 22nd October 2015 recruitment to the Study ended. You can read more on why the study closed here. All the research undertaken using Life Study information will be freely available to the public and can be accessed here.
- How will my information and samples be used?

Although we will not collect any new data information from you or anyone else in Life Study, we would still like to use the information you have already provided for research to the benefit of children and families.
We would like to use your information for the Baby Biome Study funded by the Wellcome Trust. This study focuses on the effects of cesarean section and antibiotics, given to mums in pregnancy and at birth on her children’s future health and their risk of conditions such as asthma. We are committed to keeping your information safe, secure and confidential as we promised when you joined the study.
- Will you contact me again?

Life study won’t contact you again. However the Baby Biome Study is one of the ways we are trying to make the best use of the information and samples collected from Life Study, to improve the lives of children and families. The Baby Biome Study team is responsible for using the information and samples collected from Life Study, a member of the Baby Biome Study team may get in touch to tell you more about the study.
- Will you request information from my routinely collected information?

The Baby Biome Study would like to use the routinely collected information you agreed to when you signed up to Life Study. Any information that you did not consent to will not be used. If you would like to find out more or contact the team you can find the relevant information here.
- What if I don’t want my information or samples used?

It is your decision if you would prefer us not to use the information and samples you have provided and doing so will not affect yours or your baby’s health in any way.

Research like Life Study relies on the generous involvement of families, like yours, who dedicate their time to helping research answers important questions on to improve children’s health and wellbeing. Although it is disappointing that Life Study did not continue we hope that it does not discourage you or your family from taking part in research in the future.
